The antiSemitic hatred that simmers just below the surface in the Islamic world has recently been blatantly exposed in a rather unexpected place –  the closets of young people across the Middle East.

A clothing store with a location in the Gaza Strip has emerged, with a moniker that instantly brings fear, dread and hatred… to the blue jean business?

HITLER.

Let me state first that Hitler is not an Arab word.  Hitler translated into Arabic, is, um, still Hitler.

And no, this is not brand of some cutting edge designer with an unfortunate shared last name.  The store is named after Adolf Hitler, the man who brought about the genocide of six million European Jews.

This is obviously shocking to citizens of Western powers, as this store would never get any traction here – no one wants to be blatantly associated with such ill-advised branding.

However, in this region, Hitler is a wildly popular store.  Why?  Because the leader of the Nazis is a role model for millions of Arab Muslims across the globe.

The connection between the two groups, both hell-bent on the destruction of the Jews, began long before the Holocaust even started, with a meeting of the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Adolf Hitler, leader of the government of Nazi Germany.  While there are rumors that the Mufti suggested to Hitler ways to eradicate the Jews there is no hard evidence of same.

During World War II the Grand Mufti collaborated with both Italy and Germany by making propagandistic radio broadcasts and by helping the Nazis recruit Bosnian Muslims for the Waffen-SS.  When he met Adolf Hitler he requested backing for Arab independence and support in opposing the establishment in Palestine of a Jewish national home. At war’s end, he came under French protection, and then sought refuge in Cairo to avoid prosecution.  In 1943, he was quoted:

It is the duty of Muhammadans [Muslims] in general and Arabs in particular to … drive all Jews from Arab and Muhammadan countries… . Germany is also struggling against the common foe who oppressed Arabs and Muhammadans in their different countries. It has very clearly recognized the Jews for what they are and resolved to find a definitive solution [endgültige Lösung] for the Jewish danger that will eliminate the scourge that Jews represent in the world.

Flash forward to September 29, 2015 when it was reported by eminent media outlets such as the  BBC in the UK, the Globe and Mail in Canada, and the New York Times that a store named “Hitler” was selling clothing in the city of Ahmedabad in India.  After a massive world-wide backlash against the store, the owner agreed to change the name.  And though the shop owner was using both Hitler’s last name AND a swastika in his logo, he attempted to deny intent by  stating that he didn’t know who Hitler even was before he named the store.  That kind of blatant idiocy, real or imaged, has no place in a civilized society.  Nor should the name Hitler be used to sell ANYTHING.

The “Hitler” Store In Gaza

Now this week, YET ANOTHER store named “Hitler” has arisen, this time in the Gaza Strip, and yet this time, no worldwide anger.  NO disgust with the naming of the store after a monster responsible for the deaths of 50 million people around the world during the Second World War.  In fact, not a single major news network has even picked up the store, relegating its telling to second-rate publications like the Washington Free Beacon, whatever that is.

But this store gone beyond the levels of human decency and in my opinion, should be forced to shut down.  It proudly displays clothing mannequins outside the store, wrapped in Palestinian Authority colors, and brandishing KNIVES – as Palestinians continue to wage knife attacks on Israelis in the region.

In a photo posted to Facebook by Mohammed Asad, a self-described “photo journalist”, two mannequins are seen outside a store holding Palestinian flags and wielding knives. They are flanked by two more mannequins wearing scarves with the pattern of the Palestinian flag on them.

In Gaza, among the pious Muslims who call themselves “Palestinians” —a faux nationality invented by the KGB—Hitler is a used as a means of selling clothes.  And inciting Palestinians to violence against Israelis is unforgiveable.  Is it any wonder that they are now referred by some as IslamoNazis as IslamoNazis?

You dare not speak the name Adolf Hitler in Gernany today, nor brandish the swastika symbol in public, for fear of arrest.  They got the message.  Too bad the poor little Palestinian “victims” don’t.  Despite an agreement to lessen violence brokered by the United States late last month, Palestinians have continued to target Israelis for several weeks, using knives, guns, and other weapons to carry out the attacks.

According to Israeli authorities, Palestinians murdered 10 Israelis in over 30 separate attacks just in October. Dozens of Palestinians have also died in clashes with Israeli security forces, nearly half of them after attacking Israelis.

Until they can act like civilized members of society, the Palestinians deserve our contempt and our worldwide sanctions.  Its a good thing for the Palestinians that Israel perpetrates neither apartheid nor a Holocaust against them, or they’d already be decimated for such outrageous and provocative displays.  The store owners should be either arrested for inciting violence or fined into bankruptcy.

Never again means NEVER AGAIN.
